Congratulations to Samarkand Global Co-Founder, Simon Smiley, who was recently awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the 6th annual China-Scotland Business Awards 2023.
This award is testament to Simon's strong entrepreneurial leadership and proven business acumen. He offers unwavering commitment to the team at Samarkand Global and Napiers of Edinburgh (a part of the Samarkand Group Plc band portfolio) as well as pursuing international expansion.
The awards returned this year to recognise and celebrate achievements in trade and investment between Scotland and China. Presented in Glasgow on the 26th of January 2023 during the Chinese Burns Supper, they were once again delivered by China-Britain Business council in partnership with Scottish Enterprise & Scottish Development International.
Special guests in attendance included; Mme Hou Danna, Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, Depute Lord Provost, Bailie Christy Mearns, and Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles.
Simon Smiley is honoured to have been awarded this title and to be nominated alongside Wei Fu, Director of Edinburgh based company Commercial Cross. He extends his thanks to China-Britain Business Council, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International.
