David Hampstead, Samarkand Global CEO, addressees the audience by video
[Samarkand Global is] a technology driven company that brings European brands and retailers to market in China so naturally we work closely with Alibaba and Alicloud for all of our technology requirements. We are a fast growing company, headquartered in the UK where we have a WeWork office, with an additional WeWork office in HK so when Alicloud and WeWork introduced the China Gateway program to me it was a great opportunity to be part of in order to grow our team in Shanghai.
For us, as for many startups, WeWork has made our expansion far easier than it would otherwise be and the China Gateway program is another great example of how Alibaba nurtures the entire eCommerce ecosystem by helping companies like us not just at a trade and technology level but also with physical infrastructure and services. So thanks again to both organisations, it is a pleasure and an honour to be part of this program and I look forward to growing our business in China together.
